fold over

Drops on my eyelashes, I, sparkle in snow sometimes, illuminating the outside can make the inside feel full

So for just a moment child, lower your chin from the sky to the horizon

Grow not only upward but outward, the moon will still be there when you return

Tell me stars were not circumscribed gases

Shedding light through mirrors and prisms, only beauty can be reflected

There are 3 maps holding love like community

Reflecting only numbers and grafts onto the ocean lines in our laps

We can lean away, but we can’t keep the waves from our face

No more than we could calculate what it means to truly swim

If you could, would you want to be able to calculate the distance to the bottom

Do you trust yourself enough to know you will scramble and kick if you start to sink

Do you trust not knowing?  Exposing dreams behind eyelids

Waking up to darkness, wonder if you even slept at all

Because your empty pillowcase lays limp like dead heart beats

And I can only wonder if the feathers you’ve forgotten will get stuck in the windows of my soul?

If tragedy strikes us both, then let us be flightless together

And skim our toes through a portrait of what we’ve become.
